The Public Health team is exploring on how best to support schools with food and nutrition. We know that nutrition is a key element in both physical and mental wellbeing, and can affect engagement and learning in school. Public Health are interested in commissioning a new programme for schools, and are keen to hear from you about the challenges you face, and what would help you to:
- plan and offer high quality and tasty food provision in your school
- engage parents/carers and the wider school community
- promote consistent messages on food
- improve access to affordable and nutritious food for pupils
We would be grateful if you could spare a few minutes of your time to complete this survey – it is likely that a school food lead, headteacher, catering manager, or school business manager will be best placed to respond, so please pass on to colleagues. Your feedback will help shape the future of support offered, such as training, resources, and expert advice. The team are working with the Devon Food Partnership and will keep you updated on future opportunities to get involved in a school food programme if this is of interest.
As a thank you for completing the survey, you have the option to enter a free prize draw to win £250 to spend on food preparation or activity equipment for your school. The survey closes on Friday 27th February.
