More free School Chef Training available!

Do you have a desire to improve the food in your school? Do you need support in creating a better food culture? If so, then this is for you!

In partnership with Riverford, Chefs in Schools are offering their Chef Educator Programme to schools in Devon for FREE! This is a fantastic opportunity to receive comprehensive and specialist training to make the school food environment the best it can be! The training programme is designed to provide school kitchen teams with the skills to lead the way in improving the food served in their schools and to help create a positive food culture. Suitable for both in-house and catered kitchen teams, the training is delivered through in-person and online learning sessions, culminating in an exciting graduation event to celebrate each chef’s achievements.

This is the second course to be run in Devon, following a successful and inspiring course completed earlier this year. Places are available to all school types across the whole of the Devon region (including Plymouth and Torbay). The next start date is the 30th April, with an in-person training day at the Riverford Field Kitchen near Buckfastleigh. The rest of the programme will be delivered with a weekly 30 minute online session, with 1 session a week for 8 weeks. The course is absolutely free of charge, but the kitchen staff participating must be able to attend all of the training sessions.
